Raiders Beanie Hat Knitting PATTERN
Storm Raider Nation with this hand-made beanie. Intricate color changes make this a beyond-beginner to intermediate knitting project, but full color chart and written instructions will have you chugging thru it during football season.
Suggested yarn - Encore, Cascade and/or Berroco
Yarn weight - worsted weight yarn
Gauge - 5 stitches and 6 rows = 1 inch in St st
Needle size - US 6 - 4 mm
Yardage - 200 - 250 yards
Sizes available - Unisex Adult XLarge - The weight of the yarn and gauge will ultimately drive the size, but adding a fleece lining to the finished knit hat can bring the size down if it turns out too large. Pattern makes a large hat that fits 23 head, but given the ribbed brim also has some stretch. Because this pattern is so large, this will most likely produce an extra-large hat.
