How to Cable without a Cable Needle

Cabling without a cable needle
Before attempting cabling without a cable needle, it is important to know how to perform a cable stitch with a cable needle. This will help you know whether you are crossing stitches in front or back of your work. This technique is best used with a yarn that will hold some of its form while cabling as well (such as wool or cotton) or else it will be too easy to lose track of the stitches.
