How to knit in the round using two circular needles

Knitting in the Round on two Circular Needles
And Round And Round We Go!

Certain round knitting can be done using two circular needles, instead of a single circular needle or double pointed needles. It can be for a small project like a set of mittens, or for a really large project like a bag, that may be too large for double pointed needles.
When knitting on two circular needles, continue knitting in the round just as you would with a single circular needle.

Circular Needles
  • Circular needles are like straight needles that have a small plastic wire connecting the ends so you can knit continuously without turning the work as in rows.
  • The dynamics of certain stitches changes when you switch from knitting in rows to knitting in the round, because you are always knitting on the right side (RS) of the work.

Another version of the cable instruction could have a different number (like C6F) in which case you'd slip 3 stitches to the cable needle and then knit the next 3 stitches.

Always insert your left hand needle (LHN) from front to back of the previous stitch when tinking. It doesn't matter if it was a knit or a purl you always insert the needle in this direction.
