How to pick up stitches after Frogging or Ripping

Picking up stitches after ripping or frogging
Sometimes things get so bad that you just have to rip them out. But there are lots of things you can do BEFORE you have to resort to this! See the related videos linked from this page.
But if you must resort to ripping, you can do it in a controlled fashion so you lose as few stitches as possible as well as as little time as possible on your knitting project!
  1. Count how many rows you rip out as you pull them out slowly so you can keep track of where in your pattern you are.
  2. When you get to one row before where you are stopping, pull out the stitches one by one and follow along with your knitting needle so you don't end up with extra dropped stitches.
  3. As you knit the row after picking up stitches, pay attention to stitch mount as you to ensure that your stitches aren't twisted.
