How to Knit an Icord

Knitted Cords
Tiny Tubes
To knit an Icord, you must use double pointed needles. Instead of knitting in the round on several dpns however, you basically knit a tiny round on only one needle. This is accomplished by sliding the entire row (which usually only consists of 3-5 stitches) back to the front of the needle, WITHOUT turning it, and knitting the stitches again and again. When the row is short enough, you don’t see the yarn that is carried along the backside of the row, essentially creating the tube. Instead it blends in with the regular stitches creating the I-cord.
